Project summary

Client type:

• Our client is one of the largest LSPs in North America with offices in Europe and Asia.
• The END client (account) is a globally-known transportation and IT company headquartered in North America.

Scope, duration:

• Cooperation on this account started in 2017 (ongoing project).
• To date, the total words translated amounts to 460,000, or about 153,000 words/year.
• Legal, marketing, business material.

Languages, technology:

• Language combination: English-Latvian.
• CAT tool – Memsource.
• Several additional tools: TMS, terminology base, query system, etc.

Introduction

The END client pays enormous attention to the quality of the texts and time to market. Every translation is edited by another linguist, checked using quality assurance tools and also read by a reviewer from another LSP.

Our client had issues with delayed deliveries and low-quality scores with the Latvian translations provided by a previous partner.

Challenge

Short time lines and high quality were our goals as a participant in one step of the entire process. Usually, these are same-day translations. According to the agreement, we have agreed to handle 5,000 words per day and per language, as well as other volumes on weekends and bank holidays.
